Life Is Precious
"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people..'" -- Eleanor Roosevelt
The "Life Is Precious" feature aims to remind us that each day we're alive is a gift (if you like your life.) Every day we're fortunate enough to wake up, we're at the mercy of the Grim Reaper. Something as simple as improperly swallowing a hot dog can send us to the afterlife. Literally anything can happen to anyone at any time.
We also aim to bring attention to tragedies around the nation you probably don't know about, because your local news didn't deem them sexy enough to report.
This feature is not presented in doom-and-gloom style. Death is awful. Death is tragic. Death on its face is not something to make fun of. But sometimes in life, you must laugh to keep from crying and I, for one, refuse to cater to the element who believe the topic of death should always be grim.
For this reason, we here at TSR keep LIP light and entertaining. We joke about the people, the ironies of some of the stories, and the bizarre behavior so common in a feature like this. But we (usually) do not joke about the actual losses of life.

I was a huge fan of a similar, now-discontinued feature once aired on a popular radio show. After two years of withdrawals, it finally hit me—why not do your OWN feature, idiot?
So that's LIP. Many of you will find it hilarious and love it. I imagine some of you will find it tasteless and hate it. Either way, we will bring it to you every Wednesday or Thursday going forward.
