MLB: A Retrospective Of October 2017, ALCS
(originally written October 2017)

The motto of this year's MLB Playoffs: Take '17. The field has been narrowed from 10 prospective champs to four...and not the four many expected. Here, we look back on the American League Championship Series.

The story in Game 1 was Astros SP Dallas Keuchel, who held the Yankees to four hits over seven shutout innings, whiffing 10. Houston's two-run 4th secured the 2-1 victory.

Lance McCullers, Jr. relieved Charlie Morton in the 6th, and was so effective that his manager A.J. Hinch left him out there. McCullers finished the game firing 24 straight curveballs, and came away with the save as Houston advanced to the World Series. Final: Astros 4, Yankees 0.
