It was only fitting that Paul Goldschmidt, Arizona's franchise player and the only remaining member of their last playoff team, kick off the Wild Card game scoring—which he did with a three-run jack in the 1st inning.

Speaking of triples, rookie Arizona SS Ketel Marte belted two of the team's four in their eventual 11-8 win. For perspective, that matched Marte's regular-season triples total...in 73 games! (By the way, it had been 114 years since any team tripled four times in one postseason game.)
