MLB: A Retrospective Of October 2020, WS (TB/LAD)
(originally written October 2020)

The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed their third NL pennant in four seasons; the Tampa Bay Rays claimed the second pennant in their 22-year history. Could the upstart, inexperienced Tampa group upset the battle-tested, star-laden LA squad?

Dodgers OF Cody Bellinger provided the final run of the NLCS with a homer, so it was only fitting that he provide the initial run(s) of the WS with a homer. Rays SP Tyler Glasnow served it up en route to a 2-0 deficit.

Urias never seems to have a defined role with the Dodgers, but on this night, he filled the role of closer very effectively. After striking out Rays SS Willy Adames looking in the B9th, the celebration was on. Dodgers 3, Rays 1, Dodgers champs again after a 32-year wait. (I'm a Giants fan. Writing this was not easy for me. I hope I was fair and unbiased.)
